
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) VPNs utilize browser-based initiation of a VPN connection, rather than requiring installation of a software client. Reliable and easy to use, SSL VPN is ideal for casual or ad hoc employee VPN access because it doesn’t require a unique IP address for authentication.
Not surprisingly, SSL VPN is also being implemented increasingly to grant access for business partners, contract employees and employees who travel frequently.
